It must have never occurred to him...that, a mile downstream after the coals were hot, he would hook a 53-inch, 31-pound muskie the instant I flipped his steak.
An author and an illustrator working on the same book could easily resemble an angler with a hooked “monster” pulling a grilling chef behind him in the rear seat of his kayak. Not so on this journey. Myron and Richard have worked together to land 18 “big ones,” with each one framed neatly in Richard’s drawings.

Myron Brubaker graduated from Vermont College with an MFA in writing for children and has taught Creative Writing at Eastern Mennonite University in the past. He currently resides with his family in the Shenandoah Valley, where he teaches middle school science, runs his contracting business, and writes for Woods & Waters Magazine.
